How dining works in Parker

Parker has no restaurant district. The city's zoning map shows residential, agricultural, and special-use districts, with no general commercial zone along Parker Road. Residents eat out in four nearby areas, each reached on a single main road:

Distances are measured from City Hall at 5700 E. Parker Road and vary with your starting point. Every business named below appears in a 2026 directory or listing (a city economic development list, a shopping center or downtown directory, the city tourism bureau, or the restaurant's own site). Restaurants open and close often, so check hours before you go.

Inside Parker

The one food option open to the public inside the city is at Southfork Ranch.

• Miss Ellie's Deli at Southfork Ranch, 3700 Hogge Road. This is the visitor check-in point for ranch tours, with light snacks and drinks. It is not a full-service restaurant. Southfork's banquet kitchen caters private events, and its packages include J.R.'s steak dinner and a chuckwagon barbecue meal by reservation.

FM 544 and Murphy Road, Murphy

The closest restaurants to most of Parker are in neighboring Murphy, where FM 2551 (Murphy Road) meets FM 544. Murphy's economic development office keeps a "Now Open and Coming Soon" list, updated in 2026, that records when each business opened. Addresses on FM 544 are labeled West or East depending on which side of Murphy Road they fall.

Groceries with prepared food

H-E-B opened a store at the southwest corner of FM 544 and McCreary Road on July 22, 2026. The Murphy Monitor reported that it includes a barbecue restaurant with a drive-thru window, a deli, a bakery, a pharmacy, and a sushi bar. From the east side of Parker, McCreary Road leads south to it.

Parker Road at US 75, Plano

Parker Road continues west from Parker into Plano, where it meets K Avenue and US 75 (Central Expressway). A few long-running places sit near that interchange:

Tips for eating out from Parker

• Closest option: FM 544 in Murphy is the quickest drive from most of Parker.
• FM 2551 construction: TxDOT's rebuild of FM 2551 north of Parker Road is about half done, with substantial completion anticipated in spring 2028. It can slow trips north toward Lucas Road and Bethany Drive, so Parker Road west is the usual route to Plano.
• Weekend waits: Weekend evenings at Watters Creek and downtown Plano can mean waits, and some restaurants take reservations.
• Hours vary: Several places listed here close in mid-afternoon or keep limited hours early in the week. Check each restaurant's own site or the directories linked below before you go.
